burns night

Spent today getting ready for tonight. Had our neighbours round for tea. A Burns Day starter of oatcakes and Scottish salmon, followed by boeuf bourguignon, cheese, then apricot tart for dessert. Carole provided the tart (she'd used last summer's apricots that she had in the freezer). Delicious. Plenty of wine and even some bubbles with pud.

We then got thrashed at Trivial Pursuit! Well, I have an excuse, the questions were, in the main, all based on French history/literature/art etc. Difficult enough in the foreign language for a start!

Great night. Reckon we'll have sore heads in the morning :)
