For my portrait project I am looking at the history of Greek sculpture and paintings. I'm trying to understand the history of portraiture, how a face is constantly warped or 'sculpted' you could say, to be a perfect but totally unrealistic human representation. This doesn't stem from photography. Here I'm using my actual Greek friend, who kindly allowed me to draw all over her face to make her look like a sculpture. This isn't the final image - just a practice! As you can see the make-up needs a little perfecting....
