The day my life flashed before my eyes!!

This was taken bout half hour before the moment it happened. Was walking out in the fields with the pooches, when i heard a big bang but stupidly thought it was something else so carried on with the sad picture selfies of myself and the dogs. Then it started raining a little bit. At this point i wasn't to worried I have to say and heard another bang, then it dawned on me that i should maybe rush home. I was about 20 mins away in the middle of the fields. I even stopped and chatted to a lady!!! god knows why
Then it the heavens opened and it was torrential, the wind was getting up at this point to, so i started running, the thunder was getting louder and i could see the flashes of lighting!!!
Now when i was little i remember being told if you're stuck in a field in a thunderstorm you should..... I couldn't bloody remember could i should i hide in the bushes, should i hide behind a tree??? Arrrghhhhhh if only at that point i hadn't thought why on earth would i stupidly be in the middle of a thunderstorm?? well younger self at 41 years of age that may bloody well happen so take note!!
At this point i knew i shouldn't go my normal route and walk through the middle of the field as i would be a target so i did run through the little spiny praying to god no trees would be hit, but then rather them than me.
I got the other side and edged down the edge of the fields along the bushes again thinking they would get hit first. At which point Glenn rang to ask where the hell i was, which i thought was silly cause i shouldn't be using my phone. A massive flash and Glenn shouted oh my god did you see that??
Did i F%$King see that i could have put my hand out and touched it!! I have never been so scared.
I ran back and took more shelter under a bush cause it started to hale at which point it was right over head. I wasn't far from home so when it eased i ran as fast as my little legs would carry me, right through a flooded bit that filled my boots, with water and home!!!!

I was so glad to be home but the power was off apparently lighting had hit the power lines and Glenn said he had seen from the window the power line being hit!! Power went back on about an hour ago thank goodness.

Now yes it would have been an ideal time to get some fab shots, but all i could think of was the camera was in my pocket made of metal and any minute i was gonna be struck by lighting because of it!!!

Right after that over dramatic tale i am off out to get a take out with friends, i can't be to late though as i have a photography day with Withers, Pidge and Tits Mcgee so excited about that!!
