Water's cold, Mum!
An advertising flyer from the de la Warr Pavilion for their Valentine's Day meal and the film From Here to Eternity inspired a trip to Bexhill to buy tickets and take the family for a walk along the beach. We've not bought in to the consumerism of Valentine's Day before other than cheesy cards so we thought we'd give it a go after 20+ years of being together.
The tide was out so there was some sand to run around on. We let Storm off his lead as he is the most reliable at recall. He found some other dogs to play with. I wish I'd caught the moment as one, two, three, four dogs flew over the groyne and then his little eyes and ears were visible peering over as he wasn't big enough to make the jump, looking sad to have lost his playmates.
After he was put back on the lead, Emily had a turn at freedom. She dug up a huge crab and tried to eat it so she was back on the lead to pull her away! I didn't try Grace after her few days of being danger dog.
Walking back we saw a man and two children up to their waists in the sea, way too cold for swimming. The mum was wrapped in hat, scarf and gloves waiting on the beach with two retrievers. Mad family.
Home with pizza leftovers so no cooking tonight :)
