The light and shadow over green land

The picture was taken through a plane window on my way to Nottingham, UK. In the foreground we see green fields bathed in a sunshine from setting sun, while the land in the background is dark as covered by a few layers of clouds. In between we see a belt of some sort of light diffraction.
