Bell rope
Dad passed away peacefully this morning. He was a rigger to trade and trained in Denny's Shipyard and then worked in 2 other boatyards on his beloved River Clyde. This is one of the bell ropes he made. He was a talented guy, he could draw and paint, he played the tin whistle, he was a real handyman and could do all kinds of DIY - he even taught me how to crochet! He worked on many "famous boats" and boats owned by "famous people" but he epitomised that saying from Rabbie Burns: a man's a man for a' that! He treated everyone as equals. He will be missed but he had a full and happy life. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2.
