Not quite Australia Day.

We had an ironic "Invasion Day" or "Aboriginal Day" Bbq this afternoon. Tomorrow is the excessively jingoistic Australia day, so a bunch of us celebrated living in a good land with some very unfriendly policies to the marginalised and those desperately trying to reach our shores. Our national anthem even states

"For those who have travelled across the seas,
We have bountiful plains to share. "

But first they have to make it past the naval boats and survive our detention (concentration) camps first. I am so ashamed.
