Overcoming limitations

There was a beautiful sunset over the Southern Ocean I wanted to capture on film, but I wasn't feeling well and couldn't leave my cabin. I stuck my mobile phone right up to the porthole window of our boat but the porthole had a load of marks on it, so I whacked a filter on it before clicking the shutter and hoping for the best. I'd got lucky - not only did the marks not appear and the sunset looked beautiful, but a bird had happened to be flying past when I took the picture. Made for a beautiful lasting image of my trip across the sea from Antarctica!
