Red Bean

I love these bean flowers, lit by the last of the evening sun diffused by the wind-break behind.

I also love the principle of being able to eat your garden. Any plan for global food security must include enabling individuals, families and local communities to grow their own food. Rather than putting control of food production and supply into multi-nationals under the premise of economies of scale.

Tsuken and whanau went home to the Blue Mountains today. I wasn't able to see them off at the airport, as I had work to do. But I had a lovely chat with the kidlets in the garden before they went - talking about bees and pollination and strawberries.
