School Visitor
Today we had a couple of visitors at school - some beautiful Sandhill Cranes. In our neighborhood we see them often. They are not shy birds. With a wing span of 78" they are hard to miss. They strut through our yards, stand in the middle of roads and honk at dogs, people - anything that bothers them.
This pair (they mate for life) visits Freedom Elementary on a regular basis. They walk up to the front door of the school, peer in the windows, and unfortunately leave very large droppings behind. For this reason we shoo them away on a daily basis. They always return to glare at us the next day. They are beautiful birds!
