California Dreamin'

Finally enjoying a day off together after yesterdays date that wasn't, we walked to town and stopped at Dubray's book store where we bought a guide book to California's Best Road Trips and pored over its pages at The Farm where they serve locally sourced delicious food. Luke had spicy chicken wings and steak sandwich and I had homemade hummus with olive tapenade and smoked haddock risotto. Then we enjoyed a coffee in Starbucks and researched our cali road trip and all the detours we hope to make before ending in San Fran for a few days.
Once finished we bought Avoca caramel squares and a bunch of eucalyptus and a single bird of paradise flower to remind us of the sunshine state and keep us excited for our third trip there in September.
Later tonight we are going to Ali's house for Burn's Night with haggis, neeps and tatties and we shall toast the laddies and lassies and sing ode to a haggis, we expect whiskey and big laughs!
