Whistler's Bend

I rediscovered a beautiful Douglas County location yesterday, Whistler's Bend Park. The cold North Umpqua River runs through it, and the hills around are studded with white oak, cedar, and Douglas fir, and pine. I used to fish here and on the other side of the river back in the 1960s and 70s. It is as beautiful as I remember it, although with our lack of rain, the river is very clear and low for this time of year.

On a side note, I had to enter this blip on Friday morning at my game-day breakfast joint with the benefit of their WiFi. AT&T's coverage, never great to begin with, has suddenly gone from bad to worse, and I couldn't upload my shot from the cozy confines of Wilson. To add injury to insult, I awoke this chilly morning to find the water supply frozen. Well, it's all part of the experience.
