Tender buds and flowers on a tender crabapple tree in our yard. Since moving here three years ago, we have been nursing it back to health. Someone sawed a ways through the upper part of the trunk, and it was a dying tree. My husband pruned it to encourage growth, and it is recovering, albeit slowly. Here you can see it blooms a bit in the winter. Last summer its leaves were finally starting to come back fuller on the injured side, but it has yet to bear fruit. With the tender loving care it's getting, this little tree should flourish.
