White on white...
So often while processing the day's images something pops out and reminds of a line from a song, or bit of poetry, a painting...such was the case today with this image of Henry out rolling in the snow and "gargling" (a sound often made by Staffordshire Bull Terriers).
(Kazimir Severinovich Malevich)
Suprematist Composition: White on White
1918
Oil on canvas
79.4 x 79.4 cm.
A white square floating weightlessly in a white field, Suprematist Composition: White on White was one of the most radical paintings of its day: a geometric abstraction without reference to external reality. Yet the picture is not impersonal: we see the artist's hand in the texture of the paint, and in the subtle variations of the whites... from the MOMA
It makes one wonder how the mind can pull out these bits of abstraction and put them together in a memory...
