Empire icicle

The best of the hand held shots, with my camera lens balking. I wanted to capture the crystalline frozen look of the Empire State Building. But I need to know more about night shooting and about this particular lens, though.
The first time I saw long-exposure night shots was in the desert--Wadi Rum, Jordan--and the colors were indescribably deep and beautiful.
It's hard to blip in this cold weather! (Nearly treated to a picture of the departmental conference I went to but that would have been really grim).
