Take a peek

Left home for school and work this morning with four-year-old in tow only to find I had a nearly flat tyre. So we had to race to school on foot, with me calling "come on Nancy, hurry" every five seconds. Bless her, she really did try and go as quickly as she could and we made in just in time.

Then back to car, decided I could get away with slowly driving it to Kwik Fit down the road. They said they'd get to it in about half an hour so I rang work and then wandered back up to the little garden behind the Abbey and took this picture of a little, almost hidden, window in the wall.

I was dreading the bill for the new tyre thinking Kwik Fit aren't the cheapest, but when I got back they had managed to fix the slow puncture for the princely sum of £24. Brilliant I thought.

I got to work an hour late and parked outside in the one-hour zone, planning to move it later. But, of course, I didn't get to it in time and I got a parking ticket. There goes what I'd saved on the tyre.

Ah well!
