Library Man

I either walk past, run past or drive past this giant sculpture most days. I call him library man, as he is right outside the library. It is actually called "The Head" (funny ole thing) and was part of a millennium project/competition. The sculpture was created by Rick Kirby, and although I think most of the residents take it for granted now, its actually quite an intricate, despite its size, piece of bronze work, which is silvered in appearance. The reverse of the head is exposed lattice, which apparently represents challenges ahead.

So as I had no Blip opportunities during the day, I took this image after a trip to the library with munchkin 2 after school. I had to take it on Auto (which I normally leave it set to, thankfully) as Little Miss E was attempting an escape from her pushchair! It's pretty much straight from the camera apart from me converting to mono.
