Sugar Sheds Drip with Detail

The Sugar Sheds are positively dripping with detail which make you instantly reach for the camera, or pencil and paper.
This detail of the shed doors was taken by Absent Voices artist, Al Carlisle.
We've held a couple of Walking and Drawing Tours at the sheds and now a third one is scheduled for this Saturday (January 25). It's being facilitated by Absent Voices Anne McKay and Rod Miller.
It starts at 11am and ends at 2pm. Spaces are still available.

Walking Drawing Tours are for any member of the public to join. No drawing experience required.
The idea is to sketch/record the interior/exterior of what was once a sugarloaded hanger.
This is a chance to imagine the sounds, smells, the life of what was once a thriving industry. If we listen carefully, we can imagine ourselves as part of the life of the sheds. The people, the hard graft,the machinery.
The Walking and Drawing Tours allow access and insight into our heritage by being allowed to record in drawing form the textures, structures and mood.
This is a one-off opportunity to really look at the space and its detail.
