Winter road
It turned out that the main part of today's blizzard was to the south, over Nova Scotia, so we have received (so far) a relatively light snowfall, although the strong winds are creating some havoc with drifting snow. I ventured out late in the afternoon to see how the roads looked, and they looked passable.
I am somewhat concerned, however, as I am planning to drive my parents to Bangor for an appointment tomorrow. It is approximately 3 hrs away via what we call "the airline", which travels through a forested, hilly and sparsely populated area of eastern Maine.
The storm is expected to continue until late tonight. We will see what tomorrow brings.
