Chinese Lantern (Physalis alkekengi)
We went for a wander this afternoon and ended up, in St Cuthbert's Churchyard, at the west end of Princes Street. This is the burial place of Napier, of Log tables fame, amongst others, but we didn't find his grave. On the south side of the kirk, is a lovely bit of tended 'garden', in amongst some gravestones. At the moment the Snowdrops and Aconites are flowering well, and there are still a lot of Chinese Lantern fruits. This one was lying on the ground, so I moved it to the wall to blip it. They are really delicate, but last a good few months.
