Four weeks to go

It is only 4 weeks until we move into the new Science block at school, and there is still a lot to do. Much of the fixed furniture is now installed on the first floor, and the lighting is largely complete up there, but there is still a lot of finishing work to do - although a fresh coat of paint on the walls has brightened things up a lot.

Furniture installation is progressing on the ground floor, but has a way to go. Here in the first floor corridor, there are some lovely thick planks of solid American oak, which are being used to make the handrails around the light well.

Outside, a start has been made on the pathways giving access to the building, but the ground is very wet after all the recent rain, and that is making it difficult for some of the work (and if the temperatures drop, that won't help either as the final surface of the paths requires 3 dry days at a reasonable temperature).
