Granny
She's in her late teens (maybe even 21) in one photo and 76 in the other. I took that one of her in Princes Street in 1976. She came from Fife and went to the Edinburgh School of Art and then taught art in school until she got married. And then, because she was married, she had to stop teaching. It sounds so barbaric, but that was how women were treated. She took me round the gallery on the Mound and showed me how to look at paintings. Her favourites were the Impressionists. She died a little over a year after I took that photo. I still talk to her sometimes.
