long time no see

We used to have house finches at our feeder everyday. So many in fact that they emptied the feeder in a few hours and no other birds would come. So I switched out the seed to a fancy fruit and nut blend in December to bring in some other kinds of birds. And the finches went elsewhere...and nothing else came to the feeder!
So last week I cleaned out the feeder and went back to the sunflower seeds that the finches love. Still nothing at the feeder yet, but I am hopeful.
It was a joy to see this bright red headed finch feasting on a tree bud against the lovely blue sky today.
