super fast shopping

We had an amazingly quick trip into Varca for shopping this morning. The taxi driver had another fare waiting, he even came in the shop with us to help carry stuff and generally chivy us along. It did mean we only got half of what we wanted, no fruit and veg to speak of, but there you go, we've got enough for tonight.

This is the only photo I took today and it was from the taxi - absolutely no time to stop! I have a hazy recollection of this church being shrouded in scaffolding last year but now it has emerged freshly painted and sparkly white, a jewel adorning the village high street.

We have high cloud today, there is a band of rain passing north of us, needless to say it is still warm, about 30C. The old chap went for a walk along the beach while I did some washing and tidied up generally.

Update on the pool. It was being energetically hoovered this morning. Filters have been changed again. There is now a sign up - NO SWIMMING - not that you would want to as the water is an alarming emerald green which will probably glow in the dark later! The guy says it will be fine in a day or two. Fingers crossed still!
