Afternoon stroll

I swept leaves in the morning and prepared some listening materials for tomorrow's French conversation class. I also finished The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver. I am glad I persevered with it as the second half of the book revealed gradually the importance of some of the more turgid earlier chapters. I can now understand the huge discrepancy between the 1* and 5* ratings on Amazon. It deserved its Orange prize. In the afternoon, we went for a stroll on the ridge and the clouds were just high enough for Canigou to reveal itself in all its glory.
