Islands to highlands

To celebrate mine and Grandma's penultimate day in Australia we decided to hop aboard the Tangalooma ferry and spend our time on Moreton Island.

Despite the blistering heat we wandered across the hot sands before Grandma begged me to accompany her on a Segway beach tour - an activity that she totally excelled at. You'd never believe she recently turned 65!

After lunch we took a dip in the pool and relaxed as the sun went down over the distant Queensland coast.

But the real highlight was to occur just before we departed - feeding wild dolphins by the jetty. Armed with a couple of fish each, all four of us waded into the water to feed the hungry dolphin.

When we returned to port we jumped into the car only to discover we had a flat battery! Because we had the wee man with us we decided to grab a taxi home and deal with the car in the morning.
