Clontarf banner

Not a bad bit of weather today, so when I finally got out of bed (what a great night's sleep!) and after a bite of brunch I took myself out for a bit of blip-wandering.

Ambitious plans came to nothing, since I only got as far as Clontarf Castle hotel not so far away from home (mind you, that was after a reasonably good walk along the seafront). I've blipped this place often before, but still it fascinates me. This is a view of one of the walls in main reception area. The featured banner is appropriate for its setting, referring as it does to the Battle of Clontarf, which took place on Good Friday in 1014, so this year should see some celebrations for the millennium.

I had an afternoon snack in the hotel before coming back home for a another lazy day.
