Hungry for old rope

The Winter months are such a put down, I can see why some of our ancestors worshiped the Sun. The garden is looking a bit of a sore sight. In fact some of those sights have me baffled. Came across this piece of rope and my first thought was 'what it had fallen off?'
Sometimes you can be your own worst enemy as the answer dawned upon me!
