You win me

We went for a walk today up to the Borestone, allegedly the spot where Robert the Bruce set his standard at the Battle of Bannockburn. I say allegedly, as there is no archaeological evidence to confirm it as the place of the battle, and there are other local sites which have been suggested as more likely. Still, this is the official site and has been restored (including a brand new heritage centre, which will open in March) in time for this year's commemorations of the 700th anniversary of the battle.

Part of the restoration included the commissioning of a poem inscribed on the monument. The whole poem can be found here, this is the last line. I thought it was very evocative.
