Bradfield and Beyond

The forecast looked promising, so I thought I'd do a dawn raid, as the early light and the quiet of the early hour are more appealing than what comes later. Although this area is not too bad during the week, being less of a honeypot than the area to the South, it can get pretty busy on a fine Sunday. Sadly, there was no sign of the fog clearing, so I went home and had a therapeutic bacon butty, then went out again once it had finally brightened - at least there was some fine winter sunshine to illuminate the moorland.
This is our road, but a couple of miles along from our village, where it enters Bradfield, a village split into High and Low. This is the descent into High Bradfield. The Tour de France cyclists will have their backs to this fine view of Broomhead Moor in the distance.
