More Than It Seems

Had he lived, today would have been my dad's 96th birthday. These simple tools, his coping saw, brace and bit, and pocket knife represent most of the physical items I have from his life. The massive part of my inheritance (thankfully) is in memories and knowledge of how do things I probably would not be able to do had he not taught me. The knife is my favorite, even though the blades have been sharpened so many times they are small and thin. I still use it regularly, but never without thinking of him.
