Vorlich
Up early and off to Loch Earn to try and catch some of the drier weather of the morning.
We walked up into the cloud and snow, fairly high on the ridge the wind hit and it really was brilliantly exciting, walking into the white void with the wind blowing spindrift in our faces. At the top of Ben Vorlich we started heading over to Stuc aChroin but the weather worsened and the snow came. I am not in the hills in these conditions enough to navigate with confidence in a white-out which was where the weather was headed. The decision to head back down was made for us when my map and case were blown out my hand and off into the cloud. I needed a new map case anyway.
As we came down the snow got heavier turning to rain as we came below the snow line.
A top day in the Scottish Hills in Winter, Hopefully be there again soon.
