Mud bath in Moat Mount!

So pleased that I didn't forget the camera card today!!!

Last Sunday, my friend Julia and I had a change to our usual route and went to Scratchwood Open Space for our daily walk. Today we decided to try Moat Mount Open Space which is on the opposite side of the A1. We thought Scratchwoods was muddy - that was nothing compared to this walk. You couldn't walk along the paths, your feet just sunk in the deep mud, so we tried to keep to the edge wherever possible and slipped our way round the route! Now, I did warn Julia to be careful as, if she did slip over, the camera was coming out!

The second loop we walked didn't seem quite as muddy, until we came to the kissing gate, although we managed to get through without incident. However, coming back along the same path it was all downhill - and that's when disaster struck! One second Julia was on her feet, the next she was wallowing in the mud. Now, in all fairness, I immediately went to her aid (amid shrieks of laughter) but Julia's a great sport with the same wicked sense of humour as me and said "i'm down now - go ahead and get your picture". I didn't need telling twice! So I got my photo and then helped her up. We were in fits of laughter all the way back to the car. I'm even giggling now as I write this. :)
