15 years today.

No not me!

It's not my birthday, it's my beautiful daughters. She's 15 but not until 10.53 tonight. I didn't have time for her to arrive any sooner 15 years ago I had a very busy day ahead of me.

It's my dads birthday too today, my daughter was his late birthday present. On the morning I went into town to buy his present, i bought him two little men made out of nuts and bolts, very clever and very apt given dads industry. I took them to him and wished him happy birthday. Plans were made to join him in the local pub with the rest of the family for his birthday drink. Mam was not going tho she was babysitting my nephew who was 3 (now 18).

After delivering presents and plans made for the evening I headed off home with a splitting headache, major indigestion at the sight of water let alone anything to eat and pains down my legs. The weather was wet, it rained most of the day, dark and dull. I had my lunch followed by the swig from the bottle of gaviscon as spoonfuls did not work by then.

I then proceeded to 'build my nest' cleaning out the kitchen cupboards. Pretty fed up with the headache, indigestion and leg pains. After this I decided to take our dog Ben out to clear my head, still raining and the road running like a river but some good puddles to paddle in.

I made tea for my dear husband who had a meeting. I didn't eat mine. I rang a few friends to check out what labour felt like. I put my apologies in for dads do because I was so miserable and uncomfortable. One friend told me i would 'just know' when it was time. And i did. Coronation street hadn't finished but i gave the hospital a ring who said to go in, but no rush. This was just as well as my dear husband had to come back from his meeting.

We arrived at thr hospital around 8 - 8.30. Watched Eastenders and were nearly sent home but they let us stay. Encouraging words from my dear husband "You really must stay calm" STAY CALM, STAY CALM!! oh yes I remained calm until 10.53pm when the most beautiful baby joined us in this world.

So the 'It's my birthday flashing badge' belongs not to me but to my lovely 15 year old daughter.

Happy Birthday my gorgeous daughter , and to my dad, her Grandad. (He's not 15 though!) Xxxxxxcxxxxxxx
