Cinema - The way it used to be!
This afternoon we decided to go to Mount Victoria.....again. This time it was to see the movie Philomena starring Judy Dench. Now I have to tell you that going to the movies in Mount Victoria is like going back in time. It's like being a kid again. The Mt Vic Flicks is an institution in the Blue Mountains. It has been under threat recently because movies are all going to digital and little local theatres like this simply cannot afford the transition. The mountains community are delighted that a young entrepreneurial couple from Sydney decided to take on the challenge and it is now assured of a great future.
The Mt Vic Flicks has a sister cinema in Thirsk in Yorkshire England so we have a nice connection to our friends in the UK.
This truly is cinema the way it used to be. Choc Top ice creams in a cone, maltesers, fantails and mixed lolly bags and when you buy a cup of tea they actually give you a real china mug to drink it out of. Fantastic really and by the way, the movie was wonderful. Judy Dench is an all time favourite and must be odds on to win an oscar for her role as Philomena.
