-made a quick trip to the wetlands boardwalk after work. Cold and windy, and the water level is still much higher than normal. Some rain was associated with the cold fronts coming through- heavy rainfall a little north of us caused flooding, some of which seems to have been drained into the area.
There are several prime Great Blue Heron nest sites that have already been claimed for the season. This pair has quite an audience on busy days, being close to the boardwalk, but it doesn't seem to bother them.
