The Vital Spark and Arctic Penguin
Spent the night in Inveraray on the West Coast of Scotland which sits on Loch Fyne. Berthed there are two historic boats the Vital Spark and the Arctic Penguin.
The Vital Spark is the last of the Clyde Puffers. Built in Hull in 1944 and originally called 'Eilean Eisdeal' it was renamed The Vital Spark as it featured in the TV series the Tales of Para Handy.
The Arctic Penguin was a light ship working between 1910 and 1966.
Inveraray is a fascinating place and was basically an 1800th century New Town . I'm sure it will feature in further blips.
This picture was taken at night when with only the boats lightly illuminated by the nearby street lights which isolates them in the darkness. See tomorrow's Blip for a daylight shot.
