Corfe Castle, Outer Gatehouse

The castle is one of the most visited sites in Britain, but I cannot imagine that today's visitors will have been at best a few dozen in number. Who wants to risk getting soaked to the skin and endure simultaneously the full blast of the wind coming off the coast?

Given the lack of visitors and the absence of any helpful colours in this image, an old fashioned sepia finish seemed the best way of bringing the wonderful stone back to life. The depth of detail was achieved through HDR.
