365:17 Hai-than-Ku

There are 17 syllables in a Haiku... maybe, maybe not - that depends on who you ask and whether or no they think that rule can be applied to English. Or if a Haiku can ever be written in English anyway... but I digress. 17 is good enough for me today. Whether or not the Haiku is good enough is a different matter. What can I say - it was forced. A blunt instrument of a Haiku, but at least it has a pivot point, an implied season, and 17 syllables. Not at least 17, or close to 17, but actually 17.

Now, what can we do for 18?
