Moorhens on the River Lambourn

Firstly, thank you all so much for your lovely supporting comments yesterday! I got that news in the morning and it is hard....and then went onto have a really bad day at work. I ended up staying til twenty to seven just to finish some work... Then I had to go to a meeting at Church, so didn't get home until nearly 10pm, by which time I just wanted to drop into bed! Apologies for not visiting many journals yesterday

Anyway, now I have 4 5 days off, phew (due to there not being enough desks for people at work for the next 3 weeks I will be working odd days here and there) :)

Felt much in need of some fresh air, so after a lie in, a food shop and a trip out to Cats Protection to drop off some stuff, I turned the car towards the countryside :)

Most frustratingly a few yards down the road I came to a warning sign 'flood' and so it was! I didn't dare go through the flood in my little peugot, so there was nothing for it but to turn round and come back without a blip!

On the way home, I parked up by the river Lambourn which runs not far from my home and had a wander along. Sadly its very flooded and the people living on the opposite side have very flooded gardens!

These two moorhens were having an argument, which I missed snapping, but there was lots of splashing and complaining, then chasing each other :) View LARGE!

Just had a nice ham and chutney sandwich followed by a naught custard doughnut and a cuppa! Off to do some housework to burn up the calories :)
