Nanortalik is located on a small island in the Labrador Sea off the Southern tip of Greenland. It's inhabitants hunt hooded seals and fish for crabs from small boats. Gold has been found just north of town and this will most likely change their economy, hopefully for the better.

Nanortalik is a very picturesque little town with just over 1000 inhabitants. The weather was wet and very cold the day we visited. We throughly enjoyed a Folk Dancing and Singing program put on by local students and other member of the community. These young Dancers, wearing traditional costume, are descendants of the Inuit People. These folks were very friendly and the coffee and cakes served were delicious!
