Like Grandfather, Like Grand Daughter
I drove myself to the Midlands today for the first time. I hate motorways so stuck to the A roads, but had a pleasant drive up and it only took half an hour longer than when Sav 'flies' us up using the motorway.
Of course I called in to see Mary first!
Grandma made us coffee and Mary handed out biscuits on her tea set plates. Trouble is, the plates are so small she could only get 1/4 of a digestive on each one, but then she came round with an inch of doughnut for each of us too!
There was one whole doughnut left which we tried to convince her was for Grandad.
" No, Me-me " came the reply. Me-me is Mary's name for herself!
I tried appealing to her good nature, explaining that Grandad had been working very hard and was very hungry. She looked at the doughnut for a minute, then agreed to share it with him.
I managed to capture the two of them just chewing their last mouthfuls and thought how alike they looked as they reacted to something Grandma had just said. Clearly they both thought she was talking rubbish!!
Have just realised that Mary is still holding half a doughnut in one hand, and an inch of one in the other! No flies on Me-me then, managing to procure two inches of doughnut as well as half of Grandad's!
