A Little Bit Muddy
A burst water main at the junction of the Shepshed Road and the main A6 at Hathern, caused traffic to back up all the way from that junction to the traffic lights on the Leicester Road in Shepshed. So Basil and I had to abandon plans to motor to Loughborough as Shepshed was gridlocked. Instead, we went to the park on Oakley Road where the newly formed Shepshed Lake is clearly visible in the meadows beyond. We've tried to tell Charnwood Borough Council of the problem of flooding of the Black Brook, but like so many people in authority, they consider that they know better. The ground was sodden and muddy, so Basil and I migrated to the BMX track at the top of the rise where he posed in the sun for this photo. Back at the car park, the Black Brook was overflowing its banks and sluicing down the lane to Piper Woods
