Astrid & Nino.
16 January 1986 - First meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force.
- Remaining days: 349
We went out today to the animal shelter in the 'Citadelpark' in Ghent where you can take the dogs for a walk so that they come out of their cage some time and enjoy the fresh air and stretch their legs.
This is Lassy and Nino.
Lassy is a Belgian Sheperd Dog, also known as the Malinois. She is such a sweety. The owner had to abandon her because of familial reasons.
They are used as working dogs for tasks including detection of odours such as explosives but also by police for suspect apprehension and search and rescue. I hope she will find a good and caring home soon.
Nino is a Belgian too. Unfortunately, he doesn't have such extraordinary senses or abilities. No, I was just joking - he certainly does. He is one of my dormmates I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know better. He is always joking around and engaged in a lot of causes and actually has a great taste of music. We are both 'Safety Stewards' of the building. Superheroes at your service whenever you are in need but pranking you when you're not.
You should check him out Blipping by looking for 'Vinwood' or the journal 'A National Acrobat'.
Astrid was there too. She is actually one of the most mysterious, fascinating and fun persons to be around with. You could say that she is a little bookworm, having read the most books from everyone I've ever been able to meet. Also, you should always listen to her advice. Most of the time she is right.
Even when I'm out for a day I start feeling a kind of melancholy or nostalgy to my new friends. If it wasn't for them, I was probably constantly on the internet looking at pictures of cats or crying all day long alone in my room. So, thank you guys for being who you are and making me a better person.
