Strange Flower With Ant Farmers

Felt quite invigorated this morning after my long deep sleep to the song of the rain! Set off on a long walk before work and saw many interesting things.

I noticed this strange flower in two stages on a big tree. I wanted to reach the other stage which had big white petals but they were too high up so I settled for this one as it's still quite interesting.

The ants seemed to be tending to the plant, probably gathering nectar. Unfortunately I have no idea what it is called!

It was my younger sons birthday today so I've been over there for tea tonight and had a feast and a fine time, he loves his birthdays :)
