Probably the best cinema in the world 15/365
So, tonight we visited one of my favourite Sydney summer activities, the St George open air cinema at Mrs Macquaries Chair.
The setting is outstanding and importantly there is a bar. When the sun goes down, the cinema screen moves from its lazy daytime horizontal position; hovering just above the harbour, to deliver probably the best cinema setting in the world. To the right you have the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge and to the left the twinkling lights of the city skyscrapers and in the middle the screen, and the movie for the night.
Magical is the only word. The cinema is sadly temporary, running for around 5 weeks every summer. Next visit I will take a real camera (not the heavily relied upon iPhone) to get a proper arty shot. But for today, I like the fact that this man just got up, mid show, to get his perfect Opera House shot, and not one person complained about him blocking their view.
That is the beauty of probably the best cinema in the world, there is always something to watch, and there's a bar!
