Happiness is a game of kick-to-kick

Eventful day.

Left early for a day trip to Malindi. Margaret drove us up as she had alien registration papers to renew there. Shopped ourselves silly including presents galore (and trying to subtly buy a gift for Margaret while she was in the shop), found glass for Margaret's kitchen renovations at $2AUD per square foot, saw a cow on the beach and ate lunch at a restaurant called I Love Pizza. We thought for some time that they actually didn't serve any pizza, but it turned out they'd just forgotten to give us that part of the menu. Great food, and awesome lime juice drinks.

Waddled to the bus stop full to the brim with food and got a matatu back to Kilifi. Brilliant driver, second only to the anti-matatu driver we had a couple of years back- a woman who was polite to all the passengers and waved you off with a 'thank-you darling' rather than the usual grunting touts and drivers who herd people into their vehicles as though they were cattle.

Long game of soccer with one of the orphans, a very quiet kid who has a lot of siblings and almost never gets any individual attention. The smile didn't leave his face the whole time.

Few hours in the evening bagging up fundraiser postcards and christmas cards that Margaret has arranged for the orphanage, done over a lazy couple of beers. Had my first ever Tusker Malt tonight. Why have I never tried this beer before???
