A fall walk

We found out that a little TMG has Strep Throat which explains why he has not been sleeping well and has been very irritable. The amazing thing is that Strep is very contagious and we are blessed that up to this point, no one has come down with it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

We decided to get some exercise and so the entire family headed out for a walk. The weather was cool and a bit threatening, but we continued anyway. Fortunately, the weather held out, but the kids did not and we dealt with lots of whining and complaining. Oh well, such is life as a parent.

The good news is that I captured this shot as we walked home. It was taken in a field close to my house. I was drawn to the bright yellow of the leaves and the dramatic sky.

As is common for me, this is an HDR shot since the range of brightness of the relatively dark trees and relatively bright sky was too much to capture in one shot. On a side note here, I rarely use tripods for my HDRs. I set my camera to high-speed capture, compose and fire off 3 images as fast as the camera allows. The 40D shoots at about 6 FPS and so there is little time between the images which minimizes the risk of camera movement.
