Silver Birch in the Rain

The day started off dull then the rain came in and it seemed to get worse as the day went on. At about eleven I took advantage of a lull in the rain and popped out to grab a shot of a tree I'd spotted the other day. It started raining again so I grabbed a couple of shots and headed for home.

After my walk around here the other day my research showed me that this particular bit of heath was used as a civil Aerodrome from 1929 and through WW2 when it became HMS Heron until 1946 when it reverted to lowland heath. I had previously thought the aerodrome was on the other side of the Teignmouth - Exeter Road. This makes much more sense and I shall explore it a little more in the future.

I hope we get a better day tomorrow but I'm not confident we will. Ah well!
