Fern find

I found this lovely Polypody fern near the nature reserve, reasonably common in the country, but scarce on the chalk hills and, I think, the first record locally. It was on an old tree stump sticking out of a sheer cliff, about 20 ft above the lane. I had to refresh my old abseiling skills and dangle from a rather unsafe Yew tree to get some photographs. At one point a car stopped below me fearing either a terrorist ambush or a bungled suicide attempt. I managed to persuade them I was just a perfectly sane botanist!
